Ojarumaru（Prince Mackaroo）” is about a boy named Sakanoue Ojarumaru, a fairy nobleman who travels back in time from the fairy world of Heyanchou a thousand years ago to the present day. The main character is Ojarumaru Sakanoue, a Miyabi boy who is a fairy nobleman!
Collaboration of “Ojarumaru” X “Hikaru Kimi he
The 2024 Taiga Drama is “Hikaru Kimi he” (To the Luminous Kimi). It depicts the life of Murasaki Shikibu, the author of “The Tale of Genji”, later considered the world’s oldest novel written by a woman, in the mid-Heian period.
In Japan, dramas are usually aired once a week for a period of about three months, but the Taiga Drama is a drama that is aired throughout the year.
The anime “Ojarumaru,” which began airing in 1998, is also a story related to a thousand years ago, as is “Hikaru Kimi e”. It is now in its 27th year of broadcast. The story is about Sakanoue Ojarumaru, a child of a fairy noble family who lived in Heyantown 1,000 years ago, who wanders into modern-day Gekko-cho and meets Kazuma, an elementary school student.
The two programs, which share the same “Heian Period” theme, team up throughout the year and collaborate mainly in broadcasting.
